How Erik Hanberg living and working in the visual world

Erik Hanberg's is really successful publishing his novel in the Internet. It provides him a huge stage and opportunity promoting his book. If there is not Internet in our world, how his dream come true? How can he help the non-profit organization? Erik's great experience gives us the example to be brave on using the Internet resource and find our ways to try the new things, even making profits of our lives. His experience influence me to think that Internet not just the visual world. It is a addition agent to provides the reality creating the  globalization and free trade, and that made the market wider to creating welfare  for everyone. 

In Hong Kong, people don't use Amazon or eBay at all, but they are more interested in using forum and join in the group-buying. For example, if I want to buy a limited addition product from Japan. I can search if there is anyone creating the group-buying pages in the forum,so that they can buy and send it to me. As more of them will go to Japan or buy the products in the same company. Therefore, the group can share the shipping fee, and the total price can be cheaper. On the other hand, the group creator can make the profits and promote its company loyalty, so that the customers will join the groups again and again. I think Group-buying will be popular in the future. 

On the other hand, Erik also mentions the privacy in the Internet. For me. I don't really have the confidence in Internet security as it still has the omissions, and it is hard to fix the problem immediately. Sometimes, when I surfing the net, I can see the advertisement that relate to the previous web that I surf before, and it is clear that the web has follow my IP and that quite annoying me. Even it is not a big deal, but who can assure that "you are fine, and you are save in the Internet."? However, I believe the security problem will be solve, our privacy can be protect in some website, and we may not need to concern about it in the future cause Internet is changeable all the time!

The Movie: The machine in Us/ing us

The web is growing and changing so fast in the recent year. Nowadays, we don’t need to learn the technical expertise and all people can share their knowledge, experience, and information in the web because it is worldwide, and it doesn’t have limitation of languages, time, and place. It is an ideal place for all people foe communication. Even it is the virtual world, it can reflect the reality in our social world, and we can’t get rid of it because it related to our lives.

This movie gives me a great short. I agree that “we” are the web. Therefore, it can show our human world’s truth and advantages, and it also can show our weakness. Web can share the positive energy to incentive others, and it has the power to shows the social justice. However, as we have advanced information through surfing the net, it gives us too many details and is easy to create verbal violence in the small things. This is unnecessary and may provide the social concert in the public. Thus, these shows that “we”, human has the advantages and weakness, so that they need to work together and exist in the world.

What do I want out of this calss?

To be honest, I choose to register this class because it is a 200 level, 3-credit class. The course date and time is short per week, and everything looks good to fit in my schedule. However, on the other hand, I look forward to earn something when this quarter ends.

 

No one wants to earn low GPA in every class. I am not smart at all, but I want to get the highest score as I can in every class. After I take the first two day classes in T INST 207, I hope can afford the “blogs” and the tests, so that it can make my “goal” come true.

 

This class is my elective course; I do feel it is attractive for me to choose it even I am in SUD major. I am a post-80/90 generation teenager, and technology is closely link with my live. Therefore, I want to learn deeply about the internet, the technical device, and how this knowledge change out quality of live.

 

I feel free and non pressure when I take the first and second day of this class. I hope it can give me a little bit of fun and happy in every Monday and Tuesday morning. Thanks.
